    Capitalizing on True crime
Nothing new is added to the stories. I understand we should speak their name and remember them, but this podcast doesn’t feel like it. It just regurgitates. Find an angle and add something useful, otherwise it’s just making money off the victims. Stephanie Harlowe , MFM, True Crime Garage, TC Brewery are good examples where something is added to ‘old’ stories. Deep dive, a new perspectives. Valuing the victim.

    Good podcast
I like the podcast ! But the narrator got it wrong on the Morgan Nick case. She said amber alert originated from Morgan nicks abduction but that’s not true. It originated from the amber hagerman abduction. So I don’t know how much research this woman does but getting things wrong on a case you’re supposedly deep diving into is kind of a bad look :/

    Great podcast
The research is thorough, perspectives are meaningful, and it’s clear how much care Kona and Ethan put into every episode. The “banter” keeps this harsh topic palatable and easier for listeners to consume. Thank you both for the work you do, and for giving these missing people and their families a voice.

    Good Stories
Covers some cases that are sometimes left by the wayside, which I appreciate. Hosts are nice people who obviously care about victims and their families. Problems are a bit too much speculation without good foundation and the ads omg the ads are horrible. Too many, too long, and for questionable products.
  • jwilks7477
Ok podcast but a lot of misinformation
Maybe if you don’t know about certain mental health diagnoses, you should do some research before speaking on them. OCD personality disorder has been a thing for decades and has nothing to do with borderline personality disorder. There’s a bunch of different personality disorders. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Vyvanse & other ADHD medications are not “basically meth!” 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

    It’s a no for me
I never write reviews on podcasts and I have tried listening a few times and I just can’t. I hate the unseriousness of the hosts. The “banter” as people call it makes me feel as if they have no empathy for the missing people as they tell their stories. I feel some things could just be edited out but it sounds very disrespectful as you tell the stories of these missing family members. If you covered a story about my missing loved one with the same level of tact and “respect “ I would feel hurt. Grateful someone is telling their story but angry and hurt nonetheless.

    Stay on Topic!
I have been listening for a while and the last week, binge listening oldones missed. Unsure if yall smoke, if so wait til after you record. The silly banter I’ve had enough, the talking/chatting isn’t what we signed up for. Stay on topic. 11 minutes fast forwarded and you’re just now telling the story... mind you this is MISSING PEOPLE. WHATS SO FUNNY ALL THE TIME? We aren’t friends, this should be strictly educational. Thanks. Looking forward to the next focused episode.

    Refreshing
I like this podcast because both hosts talk like themselves with no self-conscious snarky “podcast banter.” Kona does her research and Ethan asks great questions.

    New favorite podcast
I love their banter! The episodes seem well-researched, and the hosts are very empathetic and sympathetic to their subjects. I love duos (Ashley + Brit, Ellyn + Joey, Patrick + Gillian…iykyk) but this one is my favorite. They banter comfortably, there’s no screeching or fake-sounding interjections or questions. Thanks for the great work!

    Good show with good hosts
This is one of my favorite missing persons shows. I listen to a few, some with one host and some with two, and I really like having both Kona and Ethan weigh in on things. I find Ethan to be more than just an audience representative - he’s a contrasting, but compassionate, source of opinions who expands the conversation and draws out details. I like hearing the humanized stories and appreciate the work they do to make this happen!

    Love you two!!
I have been bingeing episodes at work and walks since discovering you through other podcasts. I love your story telling, sarcasm and sense of doing what is right. Looking forwarding to more stories from you. Keep them coming. These people need to be found and have justice!

    Both of you are AMAZING
I’ve been a listener since the beginning and I love this show! I appreciate the update episodes and the two-parters (sorry Ethan!). I’m also a JMU alum, Go Dukes! Keep it up, thank you both for doing what you do!
  • Kanamore
    Obsessed!
Love this podcast! I listen while in traffic going and coming from work. You guys are awesome!
  • Backsasser
    Not much compassion
This podcast lacks knowledge about the missing they talk about. They make so many assumptions. The banter back and forth is annoying. It’s like listening to a married couple in a private conversation.
  • Noah-808
Used to like it. Too many ads now.
Been listening for quite a while. Have enjoyed it until recently. Ads at the beginning were fine and understandable for the podcast to make money. Recent episodes seem to have a large jump in ads and ad breaks. Just seems like ad after ad after ad now throughout. Can’t listen to it anymore. So I gave 3 stars because it used to be good and now it isn’t. I’m writing this because I’m removing this podcast from my app solely due to the increase in ads.
  • AriesSpinner3/23
What a great listen everytime !!!
I absolutely love you two and this podcast !!! The information provided along with the extra “razzle dazzle”that Ethan gives throughout the episodes is epic. I also love that I can relate to the hosts being in the same peer group. Keep up the awesome work and episodes. You get me through my New Jersey work days.
  • Luckyacire
    Love this podcast
I’ve just discovered this podcast and I’m obsessed. I love that both host are not afraid to speak up for marginalized communities and people of color . They don’t sway away from showing empathy and covering those cases like a lot of other podcasts do . They aren’t afraid to call out racism , classism etc . I see a lot of racist people have given 1 star reviews because they don’t like to hear that sometimes the world is racist 🤷🏽‍♀️. But keep being unapologetic and telling these true stories .

There are tons of crime podcasts available, skip this one.
Not as informed or knowledgeable as other podcasters. It's more like having a conversation with your boomer conspiracy theory aunt who is actually clueless. There are much better out there.
  • Great app101
    Nope
I just started listening recently and thought I should start at the very beginning. I thought it was a good podcast until they wanted to bring politics into it on Alexis Patterson's case. not a very good look, as a business you should keep your political parties to yourself.
  • Suze0676
    Excellent podcast
I found this podcast by searching for more info on a missing person case. Now I’m binging the episodes. A thoughtful presentation of cases.
  • LauraZ76
    Great energy and reporting
I found this podcast late to the game and I have gone back to the beginning. Kona does fabulous research and Ethan’s participation and insights make for a great combination. They cover a wide range of cases, from well known to not as much, and are both sensitive and realistic in their reporting. Highly recommended!

    Excellent podcast
Just found this podcast and am binge listening. I appreciate the straightforward storytelling, absence of useless chatter, and the use of several perspectives that put each case into perspective.

    A Great Listen
Loving this show, Kona and Ethan have some great conversations and dive deeper into investigations in an interesting way! I enjoy their different perspectives (Kona as a true crime aficionado and Ethan as a law enforcement officer), and their banter is honestly just fun to listen to. However, I don’t understand the negative reviews of this podcast — the hosts seem to expertly walk a fine line of being respectful to those missing persons and their families but also poking innocent fun at *themselves* and occasionally a town/location. Plus I love their inclusive language and overall sensitivity to the subject of missing persons. Personally love this podcast, keep up the good work!
  • simplemom2
    New Fav!
If you are in the missing person community this pod is a MUST! I can’t believe I have not found this pod before esp as a advocate for the missing. These 2 both bring their individual unique perspectives on the cases which I appreciate. Working on binging all the episodes.

    Great New Find
Just stumbled upon this. I love it!! Can’t wait to binge them all!
  • Southernchacha
    Why?
Why even start a podcast when the hosts don’t do any kind of research about the cases they report ? Most of their podcast is just a bunch of mismatched info gathered here and there There are more “I don’t know”, I’m not aware”, I’m not familiar”, “I’m not sure” than in a police interrogation of a reticent mafia boss! Also they seem to lack compassion for the people they are reporting about I gave it a 2 star review because they do feature some cases that have not received any attention
  • Mistersherlockholmes
    Boring, plain, ignorant, insulting
They could not seem less interested in the people involved in the cases they tell. Making money off missing people while getting the names of the towns wrong, making wild speculations, and taking small jabs and making jokes about other places like West Virginia or Indianapolis. It’s clear they don’t do much of their own research, taking material from the show “Disappeared” instead.
  • Eastlake Rob
    Not Very Good
I wish I had 4 hands so I could give this podcast 4 thumbs down.
  • RoseyMarie
    Refreshing Format & Well Researched
I usually tend to prefer podcasts with only one host but the format of this podcast, with one person researching and presenting the story and the other knowing nothing and reacting in real time is very engaging. Also the episodes I’ve watched all seemed well researched, respectful, and just very well done with the editing, music, etc…
  • Notahoosier1
    Snarky comments
Snarky comments about Indianapolis/Indiana and the residents is condescending and insulting. Needless to say, I stopped listening at that point. And, no, I don’t live there.
  • flashdesires

    Top Notch!
"And Then They Were Gone" is hosted by husband and wife duo Kona Gallagher and Ethan Flick. Kona, a real estate agent by day and a true crime enthusiast at heart, meticulously researches and prepares each podcast episode. She gathers information, verifies facts, and organizes the content to create a compelling narrative. Ethan, who works in law enforcement, brings a unique perspective to the podcast. As he hears about the cases for the first time alongside the audience, his "cop brain"—a mindset shaped by his professional experience—helps him dissect the information with a critical eye for suspicion and potential threats. This dynamic partnership results in a well-researched, engaging podcast that captivates listeners with its thorough and authentic approach to true crime storytelling.
  • Swanicyouth
    Very Good Podcast
This is one of my fav TC podcasts. It’s a really good format.
  • JGilman25
    Just ok
Mildly entertaining. I don’t mind the back-and-forth banter, but I prefer just the facts. I do mind the virtue signaling and general disdain for white people. It also sounds like the female host has a slight lisp or speech impediment, especially when she says words with an “L.” No judgement, just an observation.
  • Formula1Chik
    Meh
The cases can be interesting, but oftentimes a rehash of the ID program “Disappeared” without any new or recent, relevant information. They seem to do very little research on geographic regions outside of their own or research in general. I particularly dislike what seems to be very little knowledge on mental illness and their appropriate treatment or differences, which is almost to the point of bashing in some episodes. I find this very odd considering the husband frequently refers to himself as having previous employment in social work. The use of foul language is also off putting and makes them sound ignorant. This was a podcast that could be great and I want to love, but it isn’t and I don’t.
  • Nezza A.
    Love!
Love Kona’s voice and honesty. Really interesting stories that I had never heard before, sometimes podcast just repeat and repeat stories, and this podcast does not. I will say, mind to the hot and bothered people who don’t understand that racism exists. Maybe their bubble it does not, Uncultured is what it is. Thank you for sharing stories that otherwise would go unheard. I hope that families feel heard.
  • trcrmlvr
Good pod - plus a word to the whiny fools
I had to give you guys four stars— first because the podcast is good. I enjoy your interplay and story choices. Kona has a soothing voice and shows a lot of compassion. Secondly, I had to give you a positive rating to counteract all the willfully ignorant bigots who just can’t bear to hear that racism exists, and who use the word “woke” like it is a slur. Yes, white privilege exists and it’s imperative that we speak about it. Also, if you’re listening to missing persons cases and murder podcasts to “escape” reality and not hear about social justice, you are not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Keep doing what you guys do, Kona and Ethan (who is apparently in law enforcement so anyone whining about the hosts being anti-cop needs a new angle). -an appreciative (woke!) listener
  • Sodacrushaddict
    Stop adding bashing people please
I love the facts but please, stop bashing white people and theology. We don’t want your opinions, we just want to escape reality for an hour or so.
  • Mathislaw1
    Get on with the story
Too much idle chit chat and irrelevant material. Unlistenable.
  • Digging4tresure
    Love it
I absolutely love this podcast and as someone who has watched as many missing persons shows as possible I especially like the way they talk about the show and other things
  • Living Life in the City
    Not objective
I gave this show a chance, but the Kadin Black episode caused me to unfollow. The hosts were not objective, they labeled the family that took him in as “white saviors,” but did not do the same to his natural family who obviously did not create a support system for Kadin otherwise he wouldn’t have gone to live w/ someone else. The woke buzz words are annoying & the constant use of “Jesus” as a curse word is extremely off putting. I do not trust their objectivity after this episode.
  • Honestreview1111!!!!
    Kaden black episode
They way the couple was portrayed that took him in is bothering to say the least. Their every action and comment was questioned on the show, yet the every action of his father and parents was not. You guys even gave suggestions on why the father might have driven by and not said hi or stopped to talk to his son. But yet every action of the parents who took him in was questioned, and questioned in this political “ white savior “ lense. This was the couple who took him in, who bailed him out, who went to visit him when he was in the hospital and jail, and yet there is no mention of his “loving parents” and “ great family” doing the same . But yet once again the “white parents” are questioned and the “loving family” not ? This is bothersome as it brings into question the hosts objectivity which is a core of a show like this. To explore all angles and really try to pry open what happened and probe new thought processes , yet this felt like a very political and personal attack on those parents. If someone questioned YOU or your friends about how much you cared for them or if you hurt them, you would 100% do the same thing. You would defend yourself, you would show examples of how you helped them or cared for them, you would provide examples, yet every time they did ANYTHING, even defending themselves you questioned it and questioned it in an accusatory way. They didn’t have to take him in, they didn’t have to visit him, the didn’t have to help him and they did. I would encourage the hosts to look at this honestly. How would you respond if you tried your best to help someone and they still went missing. The fact that these parents brought up his history is not a problem, it’s a fact, people’s history is the clearest insight into what happened, yet they bring it up and you guys make it out like they were patronizing him ? Could they have said ANYTHING correct in your eyes ? I’m sure this case had more details you didn’t cover that cloud your opinion so I’m sure I could be encorrect in my assumptions but the way it is projected and displayed on here bothers me. You guys produce some good content but this show was in poor taste . Only reason it’s not a one star is your history of make good content on other shows.
  • Crazymom6171
    Love it!!
I wish I could give this podcast a 100 star rating!! Love your style!! I came here for the Brianna Maitland episode but, came back to listen to the rest. Finally up to 2022!! Ethan asks all the questions I would ask like he’s in my head. Side note Ethan my head is dark and scary stay out of it 😂😂 Have you ever looked into Trenton Duckett or Maura Murray? I know Maura’s case has been done a million times but I would love to hear your take on it. Trenton however, I feel always needs more attention!!
  • Natalie McCullough
    Leave out the woke stuff
I love the podcast overall. It is one of my favorites, and I will continue to listen for now. However, I can do without the occasional, sometimes subtle, digs against white people, police and other social justice warrior stuff. Unless that is the topic of a podcast, I don’t want to hear it. I want to escape.

    Makes up theories for drama
Used to really love this show but it seems more and more they project to create drama. Take for example Kaiden Black. I’m half way in and they keep saying the family are white saviors with sus motives because gasp…they took in their ons best friend. As if that doesn’t happen all the time
